Beautiful but often deadly, these humanoid creatures are a hybrid between elves and animals. They all sport a gaping hole in their backs, which can look like an old tree, rotting meat, or fresh meat. They can have cow tails or fox tails, and some even have the legs and feet of a mountain goat.



  • Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 1.
  • Age. Huldra and huldrakall can live to almost a thousand years. They mature at around the same rate as humans until adulthood, at which they seem to stop showing physical signs of aging beyond hair growth.
  • Alignment. Huldra and huldrakall are usually solitary forest creatures, so their alignment is almost always neutral. They always reciprocate kindness with kindness, and are rarely evil.
  • Size. Huldra and huldrakall can range from 5 to 6 feet tall, with a slender build. Your size is Medium.
  • Speed. Your base walking speed is 35 feet.
  • Darkvision. Accustomed to twilit forests and the night sky, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
  • Forest Dweller. You have proficiency in two of the following skills: Perception, Nature, and Stealth.
  • Fey Ancestry. You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can't put you to sleep.
  • Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and Elvish.

Choose one of the following subraces:



  • Ability Score Increase: Your Constitution and Strength scores each increase by 1.



  • Ability Score Increase: Your Intelligence and Charisma scores increase by 1.
